The Bowie Seamount Expedition, August 2003
An exploratory diving expedition to Bowie Seamount, an underwater pinnacle that rises to within 100 feet of the ocean surface 100 miles west of the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida Gwaii). Five divers venture out to the remote site with the goal of shooting photographs and video in order to document the fascinating marine life inhabiting the seamount. Because of its location far offshore and in very exposed waters, the seamount has been dived by fewer than 20 people since its discovery.
